Carolyn was raised in a highly creative environment. From an
early age she spent her free time entertaining people with
stories, acting out plays which she created, and choreographing
dance routines for herself and sisters to perform. Carolyn was
very busy when not in school. She performed in musicals for
Parks and Rec. and trained for swim meets and gymnastics with
national Olympic coaches. On the weekends she was sent to
'learning' retreats where she was exposed to many different
cultural lifestyles. Her imagination was always rich to create
stories for short Films, TV and Videos.
Carolyn is a Meisner trained Actor and studied at the Playhouse West Repertory Theater
under the tutelage of Jeff Goldblum.
She studied Improvisation, Sketch Comedy, Movement and Dance at UCLA
and the Academy of
Performing Arts. Carolyn enjoyed workshops and trainings as a member of the
Screen Actors Guild
Conservatory at the AFI. She taught an annual Summer Seminar for
Writer-Actors.
Carolyn recurred as Nurse and Paramedic Murdza on 'Days
of Our Lives,' and recurred on 'Saved By The Bell' playing
"Courtney." Carolyn stars
in the SAGindie
feature 'Under the Jacarandas.'
Carolyn has hosted cable
shows, one series, entitled "Spotlit with Carolyn Cable"
was
produced for the Los Angeles area. The show has featured famous
jazz players, local filmmakers, and business professionals.
Carolyn and her family of producers were nominated in three categories and
won an Award for the Local Origination Video of Excellence from the
Creative Learning Channel, LA36. The cable shows aired regularly
on the Time Warner Cable/Comcast/Adelphia systems and a select
few are on Spotlit's YouTube channel. Carolyn's father, Jazz guitarist
John Chiodini
('Who's Who in America,' 'Who's Who in the World') is the
Musical Director for the cable shows.
Carolyn has made many low budget films and videos in film school
where she and her sisters stood apart for their free-spirited
works.
Carolyn's Super8 film, 'A Cow and a Salad' won a
Best film award in the Action film
festival and started her Screenwriting career. This film
received a revival screening and the same weekend her debut documentary, 'In The Open,'
played at the Time Warner Film Festival. Carolyn and
company were on the filmmaking panels at the Time Warner WVIF Festivals.
Carolyn's writing has been recognized for its connection and
depth with universal themes
and storylines. Her film work on 'A Cow and a Salad,'
was the subject of an article in the
film journal 'The Velvet Light Trap: Review of Cinema.'
The female themes explored in the film resonated
with audiences on varying levels. Carolyn is also a published
writer. Carolyn continues to write specs, take on assignments when a
story resonates with her, and does independent passion projects.
As of this writing, she has co-produced a movie, sold a couple scripts
and ideas
outright, and has taken on four feature assignments from Production
companies.
Carolyn's film work includes 'Raw: Undergrad Classics'
which consists of co-productions with her real-life sisters.
Their short films
played at the second annual WVIF film festival in Northridge.
Carolyn is a member of the Academy of Television, Arts &
Sciences, SAG and the American Federation of Television and
Radio Artists.
Carolyn was the Girl's Varsity swim
team Captain and a national competitive Swimmer with titles. She
was a Los Angeles City Lifeguard and a California Licensed EMT
(Emergency Medical Technician). She is a certified Personal
Trainer.
